Counselling for Dentists and Medical Professionals | Online & In-Person Support Across the UK

Face-to-face in Winsley near Bradford-on-Avon and online across the UK

I offer counselling for dentists and medical professionals who are carrying the emotional weight of working in demanding clinical roles. This may include stress, burnout, anxiety, loss of confidence, identity shifts, or a growing sense that things feel heavy, confusing, or unsustainable.

An understanding of the professional context

My background is in dentistry, where I worked for many years in clinical practice and leadership roles. I have also worked closely with doctors through GP practice settings and through personal and professional relationships. This means I have a lived understanding of the responsibility, pressure, isolation and emotional load that often accompany medical and dental work.

You don’t need to explain the professional landscape to me, justify how you’re feeling, or hold yourself together in a particular way. We can work at a pace that feels safe and grounded, focusing on what is actually going on for you beneath the surface.

I also work with other professionals where the therapeutic relationship feels like a good fit, offering counselling grounded in curiosity, compassion and respect for individual experience.

What people often bring to this work

Dentists and medical professionals may come to counselling with experiences such as:

  • work-related stress, burnout or emotional exhaustion

  • anxiety, overwhelm or a sense of being constantly “on edge”

  • loss of confidence or self-esteem

  • identity shifts linked to career stage, change or transition

  • experiences of loss or grief, personal or professional

  • difficulty switching off, resting or setting boundaries

  • a sense of disconnection from self, meaning or purpose

You don’t need to have a clear agenda. Sometimes the work begins simply with having space to slow down and be met as a human being, rather than as a role.

How I work

My approach is relational, compassionate and integrative, with an awareness of the nervous system and the impact of prolonged pressure on emotional wellbeing. This is counselling rather than coaching, and the space is confidential, non-judgemental and collaborative.

I work one-to-one, offering:

  • face-to-face counselling in Winsley (near Bradford-on-Avon)

  • online counselling for dentists and medical professionals across the UK

  • sessions that are paced, reflective and responsive to you

From a professional colleague

“Jude brings a rare combination of warmth, kindness and professional insight. Her sincerity and understanding create a calm, safe space where people feel able to share openly. Our occupational health doctors and nurses refer to Jude with confidence, knowing that her empathy, practical understanding of work pressures, and thoughtful support help people navigate both professional and personal challenges.”

Fees - a structure and choice

Many dentists and doctors tell me they value clarity, review points, and knowing they remain in control of both time and cost. You are welcome to book counselling on an open-ended basis, reviewing regularly together. Alternatively, you may choose a time-limited professional support container of 6 sessions, designed to offer a clear and contained space to reflect, process, and regain steadiness during periods of pressure or transition.

Session timing: For professional support appointments, session spacing can be flexible. Some people choose to meet weekly for a short period, while others prefer longer gaps between sessions depending on workload, rota patterns, or clinical pressures.

We agree timing together and review it as needed.

Professional Support Container (6 sessions)

6 × 60-minute sessions at £65 per session

Total cost: £390

This option does not imply a commitment to ongoing therapy. We review together, and you are always free to pause, continue, or stop at any point.

  • Session length: 60 minutes

  • Fee: £65

  • Format: Face-to-face or online

  • Location: PureSoul Wellbeing, Winsley (near Bradford-on-Avon)

Session length reflects the complexities of exploring professional experiences in healthcare.

If personal issues become the focus of our work, counselling may transfer to the standard counselling fees of £54 per 50-minute session or £65 for 60 minutes, in line with my general counselling practice.

We would discuss this openly and agree together what feels most appropriate.

A gentle invitation

If you are a dentist or medical professional and you’re finding things increasingly hard to hold, you’re welcome to get in touch. We can explore together whether this way of working feels like a good fit for you.

There is no expectation to know what you want to say or where the work will go. We can begin wherever you are.
